Hey folks, Nick Croft here. You might know me already, or you may be reading something from me for the very first time, so I want to say good to have you here either way. If you want to learn more about me, check out my About Page.

This is the very first blog post at Accessibility.ICU, so I figured I’d share a bit about the vision for this site and the blog here. The goal of Accessibility.ICU is to use my experience to help make the web a better place. I’m doing that in a few ways:

  • Writing about Accessibility News
  • Providing Accessibility tips and tricks
  • Offering Accessibility services such as Micro Audits and Discovery Audits

I cover how I got into accessibility and a few other details in my about page, but I’ll also write about my accessibility journey in this blog. A lot of the details are a little fuzzy because I completed the major certifications a few years back, but I have some planned posts to explain what it was like getting my certifications and other ways I grew in accessibility expertise, as well as some posts about events that are coming up.

Finally, I am working on documenting the process of doing a full site accessibility audit, including a micro audit, a discovery audit, and the detailed audit that results from the discovery audit process. Once the audit is done, I’ll be remediating all of the found issues and writing about that process, too!

So, check back regularly to learn more about accessibility.
